Stephen Mackanic

M.S Sport Psychology

Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)

California born and raised, my early years were rooted in baseball, with time spent exploring hockey, casual swimming, and soccer. Eventually, I found my true connection to sport in the water, competing in swimming and water polo through high school and into the collegiate level.

That lifelong passion for athletics led me to earn a Master of Science in Sport Psychology from National University and build a career helping others strengthen their mental game. I currently am a mental performance consultant contractor, working with members of the USAF, where I support and teach them how to perform mentally in high-pressure, high-performance environments.

As a “Mind Mackanic” (a little play on words with my last name), I try my best to notice where repairs are needed as well as what is in good condition. I want to break things down with you in a way where you understand how to rebuild your mental abilities in an even stronger way. I provide online consulting to athletes across the country, spanning all levels of competition from youth and collegiate athletes to professionals in sports. But what I do has strong crossover to helping niche groups such as a choir group, esports, musicians, parents, coaches, doctors and nurses, and so much more. What I seek is not only an improvement that you notice in performance moments but also notice how your mental game starts to impact and improve daily life and your well-being.
